Transitioning into the Aquarian Age
Posted by Jana Groscost Matthews | Filed under Inner Alchemy, Manifesting, Transformation
Our lives are governed by many patterns. There are patterns within us and patterns outside of us that influence our lives. One such pattern we are familiar with is the zodiac signs. About every 30 days the sun enters a new zodiac sign which has characteristics that influence us during that month.
The earth also transitions through a longer pattern called the zodiac age. It is similar to the zodiac signs we travel through every 30 days but the time period is estimated to last about 2,000 years.
The earth and its inhabitants are influenced by the specific zodiac sign it passes through for this time period. By looking at where we have been, we can have a better understanding of our potential future.
Right now we are transitioning out of the Piscean phase and into the Aquarian age. Renowned author and medical intuitive Carolyn Myss describes the duality of the Piscean age we are just exiting:
…the fundamental blueprint of Pisces (two fish swimming in opposite directions) expressed itself in a continual need to divide and conquer, separate and study, split East and West, body and soul, male and female, yin and yang, the left-brained from the right-brained, the intuitive from the intellectual…
These characteristics clearly describe the way we have lived for the past several thousand years. But we are seeing a difference in our world as we straddle between two signs. Carolyn says this about the zodiac age we’re moving into:
…Aquarian consciousness holds the template of holism (holy) – to draw humanity together. Thus, holism has become the template for medicine, the environment for the beginnings of a global community, and for how we now model ourselves: body/mind/spirit. Holism has become the new soul impulse. We are now living between eras – half in Pisces, an age of separation – and Aquarius, an age of unity and holism.
By understanding how we are influenced by this transition we know the old way of doing things will no longer work and learn to embrace a new way of holism. As we adapt to the changes around us instead of resisting the easier the transitions will be. Understanding our personal patterns and external patterns helps us learn to master ourselves and our lives.

Shifting Tides as Venus and Jupiter Turn Direct?
Posted by Jana Groscost Matthews | Filed under Manifesting
Late Monday I felt a slight shift. Then Tuesday it grew stronger. We often never realize the subtle changes until a shift in the cosmos occurs and we feel a sense of release. This is what we are all feeling right now as both Venus and Jupiter turn direct on November 18, 2010.
Each of the planets plays a significant role, with specific characteristics that influence our lives. When a planet is in retrograde it appears to be moving opposite of its normal motion. This change causes the planet’s influence to be the opposite of the norm; showing the shadow side within us.
Venus, while in retrograde, has been forcing us to delve into past relationships and notice the limitations they’ve placed on us. As the love planet shifts direct, we feel a breath of fresh air as we move towards balanced pleasures and partnerships.
It’s necessary to take care of ourselves and embrace life’s sweet treats. Now is the time for artistic projects, hosting social events, and looking at ways to improve our personal appearance.
As Jupiter’s gears shift, optimism returns! Plans that have been put on hold or seemingly stagnant are now moving forward. Follow your inspiration, mapping out the path and following the steps to achieve your goals.
Remember to approach everything with gratitude. Gratitude opens the door to receiving more.

New Moon in Taurus 2010
Posted by Jana Groscost Matthews | Filed under Manifesting
Our world is constantly in a state of flux. As the earth is shedding old patterns with its devastating storms, earthquakes, and volcanic activity it’s providing a different landscape for us all. As a part of this earth, we too are impacted by natural disasters, emotional turmoil, and financial distress. Within a split second everything can change. Letting go of expectations and being open to all possibilities is the key to any transition.
It’s easy to get caught in patterns; expecting that life will continue on a specified course often determined by us. We often anticipate that if we do steps A, B, and C, that results D and E will manifest. Frustrations set in when the results are not as expected. The lesson of this lunar cycle is letting go of predictions, expectations, and most importantly control and embracing uncertainty.
The earth goes through events that constantly change it. As a part of the earth, we too must shed the old and open to what’s new. The New Moon, which begins May 13, 2010 at 9:04 EST, is a great time to set new goals and intentions for the lunar cycle. It’s a time to recreate yourself and embrace your true self.
