The new moon is a time to of rebirth, planting new seeds, developing new actions, germinating new thoughts, and manifesting what you want. We’ve just ended the playful, creative, self-promoting emphasis of the Leo lunar cycle and are now moving into the quieter more introspective energy of Virgo. Wealth Tip: Celebrating Abundance

Most people have hang ups about money. They would rather talk about anything other than money. One of the number one questions I’m asked is about money. People fear it.

When people focus on the fear and scarcity of money they cannot attract more of it – they actually repel it and stop the flow of more coming to them. Our body can only hold one vibration at a time. If the vibe held is that of scarcity only a little will flow in; if the vibe is “enough to get by” then that amount flows in; if the vibe is one of “abundace” then the flow is continuous. To get what you want, you have to project what you do want. Your thoughts and feelings have to align with the goal in order to get it.

A small shift in your vibration manifests big results. We want to retrain your brain and body for abundance.

1) Most people feel anxiety with the “word” money, so replace it with the words abundance or prosperity. With an emotional charge of anxiety or stress behind “money” plain and simple, you will not attract more.

2) Stop saying or writing affirmations that you discount with your thoughts, beliefs, and feelings. If you say an affirmation such as “I am wealth” and the voice inside your head says, “Then why is my bank account empty,” then you’ve negated the higher frequencey vibe with a lower one of scarcity. The Universe doesn’t have a bank account, it supplies what we need when we need it.

3) Celebrate your abundance. Each time you “receive” abundance celebrate at that moment. You find a dime on the ground, celebrate at that moment with gratitude. You have to buy something, when you get to the store you find it on sale – celebrate it. You park your car and find money still on the meter – celebrate. Someone pays for something unexpectedly – express gratitude to the Universe for supporting you.

4) Gratitude – each time you pay your bills express gratitude instead of begruding the situation. We all have stuff we have to pay for – housing, utilities, food, clothes, cars, etc. You may spend every cent on your living expenses and have a choice to be gratful for the money to pay for them or begrudge the situation. Again, holding a higher vibe versus a lower one.

5) Abundance journal – Our left brain wants to “see” that we are abundant. If it isn’t showing in the bank, create a journal to “show” your brain you are abundant. Each time you have an abundant moment whether it’s a penny or something more write it down in a notebook/journal. Within a few days your brain will see how you’re attracting abundance to you. “See I am abundant, look at what I’ve received this week!”

The more frequently you hold the vibration of abundance the more you’ll draw to you. Like attracts like. You’ll be a money magnet! Remember you can only hold one vibration at a time. The more often you celebrate and acknowledge your abundance the more you’ll attract to you. Do you choose scarcity or abundance?

New Moon in Leo 2010

This is your time to shine and remember your purpose! What do you really want? How do you want to be? As we move into the new moon, on August 9, 2010 at 11:08pm ET, it’s time to set or renew your intentions.

During to this lunar cycle, pay attention to pressure points. You may feel like you’re on the brink of breaking, but this pressure is helping you “break through” patterns. Use meditation, breathing, or visualization exercises each day to “breath out the old” and “breath in the new.” This process may bring stuff up, but at least the energy is moving.

The New Moon in the Sun sign of Leo reminds us to be creative. Be playful with the process – like a child; see the world with a renewed sense of awe, simplicity, and joyfulness. Set beautiful intentions for yourself and let go of your attachments to the outcome.

There’s a Hole in My Sidewalk by Portia Nelson

I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I fall in.
I am lost …. I am helpless.
It isn’t my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.

I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I pretend that I don’t see it.
I fall in again.
I can’t believe I am in this same place.
But, it isn’t my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it is there.
I still fall in … it’s a habit … but, my eyes are open.
I know where I am.
It is my fault.
I get out immediately.

I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.

I walk down another street.

We are habitual creatures, often following the same patterns. Several great philosophers have said, “Insanity is doing the same thing expecting different results.” We all face challenges in life, often feeling stuck, or feeling uncomfortable with options. But, approaching these challenges from the state of mind that created them only causes frustration. Growth and transition occurs when we “think outside the box,” brainstorming new ideas and consciously open to many possibilities. Fear of “walking down another street” is often the culprit to stuffing us back into the old pattern’s box. And only you can choose to walk down another path or continue with the familiar one.

There are simple solutions to the challenges we face, we humans tend to complicate them thinking, “The simple solution must not be the right one.” What would happen if you picked the simplist solution to every situation you face?

New Moon in Taurus 2010

Our world is constantly in a state of flux. As the earth is shedding old patterns with its devastating storms, earthquakes, and volcanic activity it’s providing a different landscape for us all. As a part of this earth, we too are impacted by natural disasters, emotional turmoil, and financial distress. Within a split second everything can change. Letting go of expectations and being open to all possibilities is the key to any transition.

It’s easy to get caught in patterns; expecting that life will continue on a specified course often determined by us. We often anticipate that if we do steps A, B, and C, that results D and E will manifest. Frustrations set in when the results are not as expected. The lesson of this lunar cycle is letting go of predictions, expectations, and most importantly control and embracing uncertainty.

The earth goes through events that constantly change it. As a part of the earth, we too must shed the old and open to what’s new. Transformation – A Rocky Start

As I step on the scale I have on seen this weight twice in my life – when I was pregnant with my two kids. As a fitness instructor during my 20’s, I thought I would easily maintain my weight throughout my life because I like to exercise and I’ve always led an active life. Now that I’m in my 40’s there is so much more going on physically, emotionally, and mentally. So finding the right combination in balancing these components plays a key role in success.

Exposing my goal in this way makes me feel vulnerable. Will anything change? Will I actually reach it this time? What if I fail? I’ve worked on this for over a year and the results are the same. It would be safer to set the goal, work towards it and then tell my success story after I’ve reached it. But I’ve learned the journey is the most important part of any transformation. So why do I feel this time things will be different? I’m not sure. Perhaps hope? We’ve all been told that accountability is an important part of reaching any goal. Perhaps putting my goal out there in a big way will help me reach it.

Even with my best intentions the process got off to a rocky start. I woke up with a sore throat on Sunday. My workouts for the past three days didn’t happen. Although I’m a bit frustrated, in the past I would have believed that forces were working against me reaching my goal. I could have thought, “Great, I’ve created a blog for this, and I’m doomed from the beginning.” But it gave me some time to think about the process differently.

I know I need to take a different approach than my old thought process of just eating better and exercising more. Einstein says, “Insanity is doing the same thing and expecting different results.” So during my down time I’ve been asking myself, “What needs to be different to make the changes I want?”

Over the years I’ve learned there is one thing I can control – my thoughts and feelings. Do you realize that over 80 percent of our thoughts are unconscious? Yesterday I received a clue towards the solution. I was telling someone about this journey and she mentioned a program that Abraham Hicks offers called “Think and Get Slim.” So I looked at their website and watched a 9 minute video clip about the process, if you’re interested check it out at www.AbrahamHicks.com.

Esther talks about our thoughts and actions being upstream and downstream, and a metaphor of a reservoir being the energy and motivation used to inspire. If you think about it, moving upstream is swimming against the current; resisting the natural flow. And moving downstream is going with the flow. We cannot maintain moving upstream at all times. It is exhausting.

So I was thinking about any resistance I may have towards food or dropping weight and I remember hearing an interview a couple of weeks ago with tennis star Monica Seles. She has a book out talking about her lifelong challenge with her weight. She said, “My toughest opponent has been food.” According to the dictionary an opponent is an adversary. In an adversary relationship with food you’re swimming upstream in resistance. We have to eat! So during my meditations I will remove any thoughts or feelings that food is “bad” and replace it with creating a partnership with food.

Esther also talks about being vibrationally aligned with your goal. If I’m resitant to food or whatever the issue is, I create a vibrational tug-of-war between what I want and the end result. So, as I remove resistance, my energy shifts and the process of releasing weight becomes easier because everything begins to align to support the goal. The results will happen once the energy is balanced.
