New Moon in Leo August 2012

The New Moon in Leo on August 17, 2012 at 11:54am EDT (8:54am PDT) is a fertile field for setting new intentions. This is a particularly creative time with the moon and sun in Leo. It’s a time to be true to yourself, to live from your heart, and to display your individuality with pride.
When the Moon is new both the sun and moon energies are aligned in the same astrological sign, and a powerful portal is opened. It’s is a time of beginnings and endings. New Moons are a great time to set intentions for things you would like to create, develop, and cultivate. It’s a time of planting new seeds; whether seeds of reality or creative imagination, both the moon and the sun support your desires during a new moon.
This New Moon is supported by the fire sign of Leo. Leo brings with it confidence, ambition, loyalty, generosity, and encouragement. Leo rules the heart, and all manifesting stems from the heart. If your heart isn’t in it, then creating what you want is impossible. On the flip side, Leo can stir up drama. The Leo energy may also bring up your stubborn side or the need to dominate. Being aware of these characteristics will help you navigate through areas of yourself that need to be tended, weeding out what is unnecessary, and allowing positive attributes to grow.
Leo is ruled by the Sun. It’s time to let yourself shine. During this New Moon ideas and goals that have been percolating for a while may begin to take root and support may pop up like tiny sprouts bursting through the dirt.
Leo rules the 5th House – the House of Pleasure. It’s a great time to incorporate more leisure and recreational activities or just shift your perspective and see life through innocent childlike eyes. Perhaps one of your New Moon goals would be starting a new hobby that relieves stress such as taking a pottery class, painting, yoga, photography, or something that helps you express your creativity. Sometimes starting something new is a challenge, instead find pleasure with what already exists. Having a renewed perspective with gratitude opens different doors. As you allow yourself to relax, creativity, inspiration, intuition, and passion may be ignited, taking you closer to your dreams.
The New Moon is an introspective time where it’s easier to go within to discover the true you; what are your hopes, dreams, passions, and desires. The pull of the tides are lower causing the pull of emotions to be diminished. Using new moon rituals such as setting your intentions and meditating on them helps you remove old patterns and create new ones. What is important is that you’re creating a ritual and committing to your vision, and opening to receive guidance, healing, and support from your Creator. The Moon assists you in healing your emotions, use its power to resolve emotional wounds and begin attracting what you want.
Join us in honoring the majestic New Moon in Leo for a live FREE conference call on Thursday, August 16, 2012 at 9pm EDT (6pm PDT). Autumnal Equinox 2011
Posted by Jana Groscost Matthews | Filed under Jana Matthews, Manifesting, New Moon Manifesting, Self Healing, Transformation, Transmutation
In the Northern hemisphere the Autumnal Equinox is celebrated on Friday September 23, 2011 at 5:05am EDT (2:05am PDT). As we move towards the Winter Solstice the days are getting shorter and the nights are getting longer. At the equinox the length of day and night are approximately equal.
All around us there are signs of the changing seasons; birds and butterflies are migrating south, plants stop their growth cycle, trees are losing their leaves, and animals are growing their winter coats. As the brisk days of Fall are upon us it’s a great time to reflect upon your harvest.
What goals have you achieved since the Spring Equinox?
Whatever intentions you set in the Spring, now is the time to step back and see the fruits of your labor. Be grateful for the steps you’ve taken and the progress you’ve made. Gratitude is necessary to creating more. It’s easy for the ego to point out any shortcomings by pointing out the “should haves” and “could haves.” But this sabotages your success by supporting your doubts and fears.
Focus on what you did accomplish because each step takes you closer to the goal. Express gratitude for the journey which shifts the ego’s focus on what is missing and highlights what you’ve achieved.
Autumnal Equinox Affirmations and Exercises:
1) I am so GRATEFUL to have ____________________ .
Make a GRATITUDE list for everything that has already transitioned for you and what you still want to change. This exercise helps the ego understand your progress.
2) I am so GRATEFUL to be supported by the Universe mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, and financially.
Make a list of each of these five areas and what it means to you to be supported in each. For example, “I am so grateful the Universe supports me physically by providing healthy, organic meals and the time and motivation to exercise regularly.” This process helps the ego recognize the support you’re receiving.
3) Create a ritual releasing your emotions, patterns, toxic people, and situations that hinder your growth. You can write these on paper to identify what you want to release. Then using meditation, visualizing the emotions, patterns, or toxic situations being removed or erased from your life. You can also burn the list. As the list burns your intentions are sent out with the smoke into the Universe to resolve.
Celebrate the harvest of the Autumnal Equinox by rejoicing in your bounty and releasing old baggage. Happy equinox everyone!

Manifesting Through Self-Love
Posted by Jana Groscost Matthews | Filed under Ascension, Inner Alchemy, Jana Matthews, Manifesting, New Moon Manifesting, Self Healing, Transformation, Transmutation
We are more than half way through what I call “the year of manifesting.” The time between 10.10.10 (Oct 10, 2010) and 11.11.11 (Nov 11, 2011) is a magical time to create the life we want. The question is, “Are you manifesting consciously or unconsciously?”
If you’re still manifesting undesirable results then now is a great time to look within. Of course it’s difficult to take responsibility for our results it’s so much easier to blame others for what’s going on with us. But that keeps us locked into the victim mentality. If you want to manifest more, then it’s time to love yourself and heal your emotional wounding.
Keeping yourself in the victim role stops the creative process. Where do you still see yourself as the victim? How does it serve you to hold onto this pattern? Do you get sympathy or support? Will you let it go?
Our manifesting is dependent upon our ability to transform existing emotions into what we want. For example, if you feel devastated, depressed, or angry because your plans seem to always fall apart with others, can you respond differently without wallowing in your emotions?
Most children are inadequately taught how to manage their emotions. Inside of you, that child is still looking for validation or understanding of what to do with this emotional stuff. Now as an adult it’s time to take care of all the emotions that have been denied or suppressed.
Every emotion moves through us like a wave. Each one has a vibrational frequency. In the book, Power versus Force, David Hawkins examines emotions and has determined their vibrational frequency. For example, regret (grief) vibrates at a rate of 75, anxiety (fear) vibrates at 100, trust (neutral) vibrates at 250, serenity (joy) vibrates at 540, bliss (peace) vibrates at 600 and enlightenment vibrates between 700-1,000.
Shifting your vibrational frequency is the foundation of changing your results of manifesting; emotions fuel manifesting! The consistency of our personal vibrational frequency affects our outcome. For example, when a person’s emotions vacillate between despair and optimism, that person will attract the vibration it feels most often. Think of a yo-yo. When the yo-yo is at the bottom of the string (despair) it takes more energy to move up the string. The spinning motion of the yo-yo provides the momentum to glide up. If the yo-yo slows down or stops spinning its ability to move up the string is affected.
When a person holds onto lower vibrating emotions the momentum to move up the vibrational ladder diminishes. When a person use affirmations and positive thoughts to shift inner negativity their emotional vibration shifts. This in turn causes a person to attract more of what they want.
One of the most powerful transformations we can work on is self-love. The more often the voice inside your head praises you the more likely you are to create what you want. You are the apple of your Creator’s eye, who desires everything you desire for yourself. It’s learning to overcome our humanness of doubt and fear to create what we want.
Shift negative inner thoughts by using the following affirmations:
“I love and honor myself”
“I am successful”
“I am an extension of my Creator”
“I am worthy to receive”
“I am good at ______”
“I am respected”
The more often your inner dialogue focuses on your positive aspects the more likely you are to be successful! For the next two weeks practice self-love and see how your manifesting improves.

Transmutation and Ascension
Posted by Jana Groscost Matthews | Filed under Ascension, Inner Alchemy, Manifesting, Self Healing, Transformation, Transmutation
Transmutation of existing energy (emotions) into something different is the foundation of ascension.
Feels are always with us, but when we learn to change our reaction to them we begin walking through a door of higher energy. This is ascension.
The difference between a feeling and an emotion is the duration in which it is held onto. When something triggers a feeling it is quick burst of energy that lasts for a few seconds to a few minutes then it’s gone. An emotion is a feeling that we hold onto for a longer period of time; it may crop up several times during the day as the incident causing the reaction is recounted.
When emotions are stored in the body they can easily be ignited. The emotions end up controlling situations instead of the person doing so. But the energy of emotions can be transmuted into something positive. For example, anger can be transformed into a motivator to change the person or conditions around them.
Ascension is about learning to moving beyond the mind and body’s typical way of reacting and creating something new, positive, and at a higher frequency (love).
“Feel the fear and do it any way!”
The ascension process is a series of transmuted energies. It is learning to control and resolve emotions instead of allowing them to control. When each lower frequency is transmuted, consciousness shifts bringing us closer to ascension.
You can read more about ascension in my upcoming book.

No More Turning Away
Posted by Jana Groscost Matthews | Filed under Inner Alchemy, Manifesting, Transformation
We live in a time where there is “no more turning away.” No longer can we ignore and bury our emotions; now is the time to stand up and face them.
We have lived through economic highs that took us further away from our Divine Creator. And the more we maintain that gap the more challenging the lessons become – forcing us to face our fears and emotional wounding so we heal, evolve and learn to live from a God-centered space.
Our souls are being awakening through the hardships we face. The economic crisis, basically the foundation of the past, is forcing us to change from a belief of self-reliance (ego centered) to God-reliance (humility).
There are lessons in every hardship; but asking our higher-self what the lesson is and listening for the answer takes humility, practice, patience, and faith.
The ascension process builds on bringing consciousness to lower vibrating thoughts, emotions, and beliefs. We are being brought to a place of healing and resolution instead of avoidance.
The lyrics in the 1987 hit “On the Turning Away” by Pink Floyd say that this is a time of
“No more turning away from the weak and the weary
No more turning away from the coldness inside,
It’s just a world that we all must share,
It’s not enough just to stand and stare,
Is it only a dream that there’ll be no more turning away”
As our world is transitioning, find a way to step away from your fears – if only for a few minutes and ask yourself:
“What is being awakened within me?”
“What can I do to resolve and heal my emotions?”
“What can I do to bring more peace within myself?”
“What can I do to bring more peace within the world?”
Every tiny step we take makes a difference – whether it’s shifting our own consciousness or helping others in need.
Now is the time to heal. Now is the time to stop turning away from the nudges you’re receiving and listen to your higher consciousness assisting you in healing.

Health Tip: Log Your Workouts
Posted by Jana Groscost Matthews | Filed under Healthy, Wealthy & Wise Tips, Inner Alchemy, Manifesting, Transformation
As I’ve mentioned in a previous post, my goal is to release a pound of fat per week until the 15 pound goal is reached. As of January 1st I decided to track the calories I’ve worked off each day so I can track my progress better.
Since I didn’t quite reach my goal of releasing a pound a week over the past six weeks I’ve increased the number of calories I’m burning off each week from 2,100 to 3,000; that’s about 425 calories per workout.
To track my progress I created an excel spreadsheet to log my workouts showing the distance, calories, and amount of time worked out for each day.
For example:
Bike 15.1 miles; 316 calories; 47 minutes
Elliptical – 2.2 miles; 156 calories; 2.2 miles
Total calories 472
After week one I burned 1,985 calories from the stationary bike and 729 calories from the elliptical machine, for a grand total of 2,714 calories.
As a part of my warmup/cooldown I walk laps before and after the machines usually totally around a mile per day. This week I logged 6.5 miles. I also do a 10 minute abdominal workout 5 days a week and yoga 2-3 times per week. I don’t include the calories burned for these activities – it’s sort of the icing on the cake.
I’ve still maintained taking out 300 calories per day, 2,100 calories per week, of my dietary intake. So between the calories burned and reduced caloric intake I’ve dropped 1.2 pounds this week. Whooo hooo! I finally reached my goal of a pound per week – at least for this week.
It would be awesome if the weight management really followed our plan. Some days/weeks are going to be good and right on track while others will not. The key is to do something that will help you work through the rough spots and keep you motivated.
Setting up a log of my workouts was just what I needed to track and see my progress.
What are you doing to stay on track with your goals this year?

New Moon in Capricorn 2011
Posted by Jana Groscost Matthews | Filed under Inner Alchemy, Manifesting, Transformation
The New Moon along with a partial solar eclipse is on January 4, 2011 at 1:03am PST (4:03am EST). Each new lunar cycle provides us with an opportunity to reset our priorities and refocus efforts on what we really want to achieve.
Set your goals by taking a sitting quietly for a few minutes. Take a couple of deep breaths to clear your mind. Feel yourself relax and let go of the outside world. Feel yourself opening up to receive insight and direction into what you want to achieve. Visualize sunlight coming in through the crown of your head, supporting you as you set your goals. Now ask yourself, “What do I want to achieve or change in my life during this lunar cycle?” “What resources do I need to achieve this?”
As insight, direction, or ideas pop into your mind, jot them down. Keep your list of goals and insights in a prominent location where you can view it from time to time over the coming month.
Capricorn is the most action oriented of the Earth signs. The new moon in Capricorn brings the energy of lasting conclusions, long-term results, reliable consequences, and things you can count on tomorrow.
Now is the time to pull out your lists and get to work on them. You’ll be supported by Capricorn’s attributes of hard work, stability, responsibility, resourcefulness, and results oriented energy. Capricorn is about creating systems, lists, organizations, governments, and tried and true strategies.
We’ll get an extra boost of energy with the solar eclipse in our path. Each eclipse, especially the ones over the next two years, affect our planetary grid system by distributing pulsating energy throughout our planet.
This solar eclipse rounds out the burst of energy we felt with the lunar eclipse on December 21, 2010. It offers us a time to feel renewed, focus our intentions, and manifest our desires.
With the eclipse energy along with the new moon in Capricorn, now is the time to be cautious about what you commit to. The most important aspects is to make sure you commit to your word and follow through.
In honor of the new moon we will be holding a **FREE** live conference call on Tuesday January 4, 2011 at 6pm PST (9pm EST). During the call you will be able to share your intentions for this lunar cycle. After sharing our intentions we will participate in a group meditation to set our intentions and send them into the Universe. Register here for conference call instructions.
2011 is the year of Manifesting! Let’s make it a good one! Be careful what you focus on… you just might get it!

Countdown to the Solstice, Full Moon, & Lunar Eclipse
Posted by Jana Groscost Matthews | Filed under Inner Alchemy, Manifesting, Transformation
We are a few days away from the Winter Solstice on December 21st. This year the solstice is accompanied by a full moon and lunar eclipse.
Tuesday, December 21st at 12:13 am PST is the time of the full moon. It stirs up our emotions bringing unresolved issues to the surface.
It’s a great time to take note of what’s coming up and asking the Universe to help you resolve it. The combined energy of the full moon, solstice, and lunar eclipse bring about a powerful time of healing and setting the stage for the future.
Now is the time to focus on creating loving relationships with yourself and others. The full moon may stir up conflict, resentments, violence, anger, and disagreement. Focus your energy on creating love, peace, and joy by asking the Universe to provide you with unconditional love, validation, and support.
Also, for people that are triggering intense emotions within you, ask the Universe to provide them with the same gifts of validation, unconditional love, and support. This will disengage your emotions and energy from them and help settle the situation down.
Do something special to honor this day and yourself; set your intentions for the new year, express gratitude, or turn any turmoil over to the Universe to resolve.
This is a time for completion. Resolve the past and prepare yourself for a beautiful future!

Messages and Manifesting with Numbers
Posted by Jana Groscost Matthews | Filed under Manifesting
Our angels and guides are constantly working to get our attention. Their messages are so subtle they are often ignored. Seeing particular numbers or sequences of numbers is one way they send us messages to “take note” of what’s going on around us. They do this by encouraging us to look up at a certain time on the clock, see a particular sequence on a license plate, or notice a phone number. Various number sequences have different messages.
Doreen Virtue has written various books and articles about our guides and angels and how they communicate with us to help us heal, evolve, and manifest. As we learn to listen to the subtle promptings of our guides we begin to interpret their messages and build our faith and understanding of manifesting.
The number sequence 11, 111, and 1111, is one of my favorites and something I see often. According to Doreen “111 is the message to monitor your thoughts and think only about what you want instead of what you don’t want. This sequence is a sign that there is a gate of opportunity opening up and your thoughts are manifesting at record speeds. It means the Universe has just taken a snapshot of your thoughts and is manifesting them in form. If you have difficultly monitoring your thoughts – simply ask your angels to help you do so.”
We are in a golden time of manifesting. Between the dates of 10.10.10 (111) and 11.11.11 (111111) is a time for all of us to be very conscious of our thoughts. The more conscious we are about them, the easier we manifest what we want. This week we have a special 11 date on 11.11 – November 11th. Set your intensions to coincide with what you want to create more of in your life.
For more information about Doreen Virtue, angel messages, and number sequences visit www.SpiritLibrary.com and learn about what your guides are telling you.
