Perceptions of Injustice

One of the most difficult issues we humans have a challenge in is resolving our perceptions of injustice. Our perceptions of injustice stem from our judgment that something is unfair. But it is our perceptions of the situation that hold us back from healing our emotional body and evolving. We become emotionally paralyzed because of situations we experience instead of forgiving ourselves and others and healing from them.
As Don Miguel Ruiz says, “We create stories around our experiences.” We become vested in these stories by saying, “I am the way I am because this situation happened to me. If something different had happened I would be ….” The story becomes justification for our results. Our stories can only hold the power we give them. When we no longer empower our story, we empower ourselves. The emotions of our stories no longer control us. We are open to new experiences.
Imagine being born into this world today. You could justify that this world sucks; we humans have ruined the world with pollution, corruption, violence, exploitation, oppression, recession, and anything else people can judge as being wrong with it. Do the children today really stand a chance of success? These are all perceptions of injustice. But what about the beautiful people working to make changes, technology that provides instant global information or other modern conveniences? It all comes down to what we choose to experience in our earthly life. Do we hold onto our injustices or move beyond them with forgiveness?
As Albert Einstein said, “Energy is never created nor destroyed, it simply changes form.” Since humans are a form of energy we existed before coming to earth and we will exist after this experience – we simply change form. It’s my belief that before coming to earth, we came from a space where only love existed. We knew nothing else. When you only experience one side of something, how can you fully appreciate it? In our earthly experience we have the opportunity to feel the opposite of love so we can learn how to choose and experience love again. It is our free agency to make choices and change our future results. But far too often people fear something different because there is no frame of reference for the new experience.
Imagine that the earth didn’t rotate. On one side of the earth the sun is always shining and on the other side it is always the night sky. A person raised in a place where the sun shines all the time wouldn’t understand darkness if the person from the dark side of the planet described it to them. They have no point of reference, no understanding of the concept of darkness. And the same is true of the person raised with only the night sky.
By coming to this earth we are given experiences to help us gain a full perspective of our lessons. We can’t judge a situation as being good or bad without a full understanding of the lesson to be learned. Unfortunately, we only have some of the information related to our life and must rely on our Inner Wisdom (God/Goddess, Source, Spirit) who has a full perspective of it. The more we learn to rely on our Divine Intelligence we learn to break free of the human drama.
Getting caught up in judging a situation as being “unfair” is part of our human experience. Learning to heal them is one of our human lessons. During our Inner Alchemy weekend retreat you’ll learn information, techniques and guidance to assist you in the healing process. It’s being offered in Northern California on October 9-10, 2010. This retreat will have a profound effect on healing your emotional body. Click here for more information about Alchemy and the upcoming event.
