Full Moon in Sagittarius – 2013

There is a steady increase in intensity this week as we approach the Full Moon in Sagittarius and Lunar Eclipse on May 25,2013 at 12:25am EDT (May 24th at 9:25pm PDT). A Lunar Eclipse is a more potent Full Moon, and its effects tend to last longer. Some say the influence of a Lunar Eclipse may last approximately three to six months.
Lunar Eclipses are about relationships and polarities. The Gemini-Sagittarius mental axis is a dance between the “lower” mind and the “higher” mind. Gemini encourages us to open up to new experiences; it is linked to curiosity and logical thinking. Sagittarius rules ideology, and a quest for meaning. This axis is a balance between knowledge and learning.
Lunar Eclipses are meant to close chapters in our lives. It’s a time of letting go of habits, patterns, and people that have lost their usefulness. Letting go can be challenging. Many people resist change. It’s easier to manage change if we choose it, versus having it forced upon us. But when we are unwilling to let go, the Universe sometimes has to push us out of the nest, helping transitions take place.
During this Full Moon watch any resistance (fears) you have towards issues that are coming up. Take time to write out why you are fearful about situations and issues. Journaling your fears is a great way of facing them. In doing so the conscious mind can see the fears are unwarranted. But until you look at it, fears will cloud your perceptions.
The Lunar Eclipse and Full Moon are in the visionary Sagittarius. Sagittarius rules the 9th House – the House of Philosophy. It governs foreign travel, culture, long distance journeys, knowledge, expansion through experience, and higher education.
Stretch the imagination and think BIG with this Full Moon. It has the potential to push the envelope of your beliefs, feelings, philosophical perspectives and religious viewpoints. With the old filters removed there is the possibility to expand your window on the world. This is especially important for projects that have been in the works. Things may feel like they are suddenly coming together or you see options that were determinable before. Watch any tendencies to over-think or figuring the details out (Gemini); simply go with the flow. Overtime it will all work out in the right time frame.
This is a tricky lunation, on the one hand it inspires imagination and intuition but may lead to unrealistic expectations or unfounded hopes. Support the process by practicing grounding techniques such as walking barefoot in the grass, hiking in nature, or visualizing roots extending from your feet into the earth.

New Moon in Taurus – 2013
Posted by Jana Groscost Matthews | Filed under DNA Healing, Emotional Healing, Empowerment, Inner Alchemy, Jana Matthews, Law of Attraction, Manifesting, New Moon, New Moon Manifesting, Self Healing, Transformation
The old saying April showers brings May flowers rings true for the Taurus New Moon on May 9, 2013 at 7:31pm EDT (4:31pm PDT). Just like the landscape in the spring changes, the New Moon in Taurus brings the excitement of change. With two eclipses this month there is a big opportunity for transformation. Flowers (opportunities) may be popping up all around you.
The New Moon is the point when there is no visible light reflected from the moon. The moon reflects our emotions back to us. Therefore, the time around the New Moon, emotions are typically more calm; making it a prime time to listen to our heart and hear our soul’s desires. It’s a time of dreaming and imagining what life could be like. The seeds of our dreams are planted in the mind and projected into the cosmos to support us. Our job is to keep the dream alive and allow the Universe to support us. We just need to keep the dream alive by providing fertile soil (physical support), nutrients (love), sunshine (faith) and water (emotional support) to our seedlings (dreams).
The solar eclipse intensifies the attributes of the New Moon in Taurus and solar eclipse on May 9th. Eclipses speed up life, throw curve balls, and force us adapt. With the eclipses this month you may see options with your goals that seemed impossible just a few months ago.
Taurus’ earthy energy focuses on the senses. If the senses are satisfied, everything else takes care of itself. You may be attracted to material things, but look at how the pleasure it brings your senses. Taurus enjoys comfortable living and work spaces; along with fine food, clothes, and music. What senses are driving you this new moon? Are you looking for a new home or office? The New Moon in Taurus is a great time to start the process – or at least plant seeds.
Taurus rules the 2nd House – The House of Value. This includes physical possessions, things of substance, growth, money, belongings, and self-worth. Think of things that you value, including your own values, this is the Second House. It’s a great time to evaluate where you derive your self-worth from. You are not your job, or title, or money. These are all false perceptions. Look at what fears or insecurities lie beneath your sense of worth to determine what you can release; replacing with self-empowered beliefs that you are a Divine Being with a powerful life’s purpose. You may not have a clue of what that is, but let go of the definitions and allow your Creator to help you understand it.
Taurus, to me, rules the space between the first and second Chakras. The root Chakra is our connection to our tribe, family, and community. It is where we define ourselves as a group. The second Chakra is where we begin to step outside the group and become an individual. Look at how do you identify yourself with the group? What role do you play? How do you identify yourself separate from the group? Is this your creation or imposed on you by the group?
It’s an interesting exercise to determine the roles you’ve fallen into versus ones that you have consciously created. This Taurus New Moon may help you discover what you value and help you re-define yourself. Granted it doesn’t happen overnight. But planting seeds with the New Moon is a start.

Full Moon in Libra – March 2013
Posted by Jana Groscost Matthews | Filed under Affirmations, Emotional Healing, Empowerment, Full Moon, Jana Matthews, Law of Attraction, Manifesting, New Moon Manifesting, Self Healing, Transformation
The Full Moon in Libra on March 27, 2013 reminds us to practice balance and mindful conflict resolution. Which sounds great in theory, but the Full Moon heightens our emotions, challenging us to be peaceful and harmonious.
The polarity between the Aries Sun and the Libra Moon provides expansion and awareness in regards to how we relate to others. Aries adds a fire and flare to relationships, while Libra seeks balance. This dynamic may give you the courage to break off relationships or it may be a time of speaking your truth and building strong alliances.
The actual Full Moon occurs on Wednesday at 5:27am PDT (2:27am EDT). This Full Moon may shock you with surprises or open you up to new insights. Whatever happens, take a deep breath and ask your guides to help you understand the truth of the situation. By taking a brief pause (awareness) you may be able to shift your perspective, resolve emotional distress, or adapt to different situations.
To offset any intensity or drama in your life, spend time in nature or find quiet time for yourself. Shaking free from old paradigms may feel uncomfortable, but know that you are constantly supported by your higher-self. Use the power within you to give you the courage to take your necessary steps and embrace the changes being presented to you during the full moon.
The time after the Full Moon is a good time for shedding and releasing. In honor of the Full Moon we are now holding a Full Moon Healing Circle conference call. This class will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2013 at 9pm EDT (6pm PST). Click here to register. Suggested monthly donation $25.

New Moon in Pisces – March 2013
Posted by Jana Groscost Matthews | Filed under Affirmations, Ascension, DNA Healing, Emotional Healing, Empowerment, Essential Oils, Inner Alchemy, Jana Matthews, Law of Attraction, Manifesting, New Moon, New Moon Manifesting, Self Healing, Transformation
The New Moon in Pisces on March 11, 2013 at 2:54pm EDT (11:54am PDT) opens the door to deep healing. The Pisces energy is sensitive, dreamy, imaginative, and spiritual in nature. It’s a time to let go of control, so you dream and embrace the fluidity of life.
In Pisces there is the opportunity to surrender the ego and allow your Higher Self to guide you. Your soul knows the plan, you just need to step aside and let the magic to happen.
This is the last New Moon of the astrological calendar. As with any end, it’s a time of introspection, rest, and review. It’s important to wind down before the coming of Spring, preparing for new growth and openings.
Pisces rules the Twelfth House, The House of Self-Undoing. In this house you see self-defeating behaviors and limitations that create inner prisons. At this time there is a profound opportunity for growth with the support of the Sun, Moon, Neptune, Mercury, Venus, Chiron, and Mars all in Pisces. You may see behaviors, patterns, or your shadow-side that have been wreaking havoc on your ability to manifest.
Be open to possibilities, keeping yourself clear of tendencies for denial. Set goals during this time related to healing the dark side, seeing your “truth,” and embracing your divinity. Ask for assistance and clarity in understanding these hidden areas of your psyche that need healing. Be gentle, loving, and kind to yourself as these behaviors and patterns are revealed.
Pisces also is associated with the Crown Chakra due to its connection to mysticism and spirituality. Through the deep healing energy of this cycle, the lotus flower can blossom, opening up greater insight and intuition. The Crown Chakra governs the central nervous system (communication within the body) and the pineal gland (communication with Creator). When the Crown Chakra is imbalanced one may feel disconnected, experience headaches, feel faithless, apathetic, confused and/or overly intellectual.
Through mediation and other grounding techniques you can overcome these issues creating balance, awareness, connection, understanding, wisdom, and bliss. To restore balance within the Crown Chakra use essential oils such as Lavender, Ylang-Ylang, Melissa, Tangerine, and/or Sandalwood.
In honor of the New Moon in Pisces we will be holding a FREE live conference call (long distance charges apply) on Monday, March 11, 2013 at 9 pm EDT (6 pm PDT). During the call we will talk more about the Pisces New Moon, discuss ways to enhance the manifesting process, and provide a guided imagery meditation to integrate your goals into the subconscious. To register for the call click here.
Use the deep healing power of the Pisces New Moon to help you break through your limitations. The focus of this lunar cycle is to on healing, resting and dreaming, gearing up for the action oriented Aries New Moon.

Full Moon in Virgo – 2013
Posted by Jana Groscost Matthews | Filed under Affirmations, Ascension, DNA Healing, Emotional Healing, Empowerment, Full Moon, Jana Matthews, Law of Attraction, Manifesting, New Moon Manifesting, Self Healing, Transformation
The Full Moon in Virgo on February 25, 2013 at 3:26pm EST (12:26pm PST) is sure to bring perspective. To make the most of this Full Moon, think big. Look at where you’re going versus where you’ve been.
Things come to light under the Full Moon. While the New Moon is introspective, the Full Moon is public. With the Full Moon, energy bursts forth with an often raw, unrefined exuberance. The emotional declarations usually have not been rationalized. They may appear to be “out of the blue,” “loony” and sometimes “immature.” But the surge of emotional energy can inspire healthy action and healing. There is something that needs to get out of your system. Whatever it is needs attention and validation.
The desire for change has been sitting within you for a while now. The Full Moon induces action. Watch any tendencies to project your own state of restlessness or frustrations onto others. Look at any desire to blame outside circumstances or other people for your own aggravations. And notice any irritations you are feeling towards others. This is a good indicator of what you need to work on since the moon reflects issues back to you. For example, if you’re feeling impatient and blaming others, find ways to manage your reaction and practice patience.
With the Full Moon a polarity is created between the sun and moon. This pull causes an element of emotional instability. You may feel torn between focusing on details (Virgo) versus inner development and mystical/spiritual pursuits. It highlights the real (Virgo) and the ideal (Pisces); function versus fantasy. You may experience breakthroughs in the intellectual (Virgo) or emotional (Pisces). And with expansive Jupiter’s influence you may finally move beyond stubborn limiting patterns, habits, and beliefs.
Find balance with this contrast through prayer, meditation, or whatever methods you find effective to help you be grounded and centered. Once balanced, pay attention to whatever patterns, habits or beliefs are being illuminated. Ask the Universe to assist you in releasing it and replace it with what you want. For example, release scarcity and replace with abundance and prosperity. If you want more love, then release resentments and replace with self-love. Whatever you want, find it within before seeking it outside. Validate your progress, and above all be patient.
The Full Moon is a great time to let go of perceived security and attachments, solidifying your belief in a continuous flow of resources. For example, the Universe doesn’t have large bank accounts, there is a continuous flow of money as needed. Stop any thoughts of scarcity with affirmations such as, “The Universe unconditionally supports me financially by __________________.” A good ongoing exercise is to describe all the ways you want the Universe to support you – mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually and financially. Be clear with you intentions, and let go of any preconceived perceptions of “how” you’ll be supported.
With the Full Moon in Virgo be present, playful, flexible, spontaneous, open to the unexpected, and inspired by surprises. Most importantly allow love, change, growth, and deep healing!

Will 2013 be a Good Year for You?
Posted by Jana Groscost Matthews | Filed under Affirmations, Emotional Healing, Jana Matthews, Law of Attraction, Manifesting, New Moon Manifesting, Self Healing, Transformation
As we approach another New Year, there is a sense of hope and anticipation. The big question is, “Will 2013 be a good year for you?”
In Numerology the year 2012 held the vibration of the number 5 = 2+0+1+2. The number 5 vibrates to change, adventure, freedom, and versatility. My life certainly had BIG changes during this year.
The year 2013 vibrates to the number 6 = 2+0+1+3. The number 6 vibrates to balance, nurturing, humanitarian, communication, and love. I’m looking forward to things settling down in the New Year where balance and love are the foundation.
As a general rule the number 6 will rule 2013, but also each year holds a vibration based upon your birthdate. To determine your “personal year number” take your birthdate and add the current year to it. For example, my birthday is January 17th, so my personal number for 2013 is a 6 = 1 (January) + 1+7 (my birthday) + 2+0+1+3 (current year). Adding my birthdate and current year together I get 1+1+7+2+0+1+3 = 15, and reduced to a single digit 1+5= 6.
What lies ahead for you in 2013? Determine your personal number and read your number’s description below. The transition into your personal number is a gradual one – as the old personal number begins to wane in November and the new personal number is generally effective by mid-January, but sometimes as late as March.
Personal Number 1:
A numerology personal year number 1 brings new beginnings and more energy.
It is a time for new beginnings. More so than last year, you feel desire to move forward, to improve situations, to assert your individuality, and to get on with life. Much new energy is supporting you. Move in new directions for a greater sense of self-definition. Reach for opportunities and they will come to you.
2013 is the year to put your best foot forward; to take up a hobby or other activity that will freshen your thinking and broaden your general activities; to look ahead. The number 1 resonates with confidence, inventiveness, creativity, and leadership.
This is an active year with many decisions to make. Your affairs are making a new start. The next nine years’ experience will depend a great deal on what you do and don’t do this year. It calls for strength of purpose, clear thinking, and listening to your inner voice.
Follow your inner guidance and use increased confidence to make great strides. Make yourself stronger and give yourself more clarity by noting every accomplishment, small and large, an accomplishment is an accomplishment. Write or type them into a journal. Review the journal occasionally to get a sense of where you are heading and give yourself an opportunity to change direction if you so desire.
Personal Number 2:
A numerology personal year number 2 brings better relationships and teamwork.
Cooperative associations are very important for you this year. The year’s success and good results are obtained through diplomacy, cooperation, and tact. It is a year for receiving and sharing rather than aggressively pursuing your own way.
Your intuition, emotions, and sensitivity are enhanced this year. More is transitioning inside you, than on the outside.
It is a busy year, with endless demands on your time. Things seem to work better when doing things with others rather than working by yourself. Be patient with yourself and ask for help from others, your guides, and ancestors.
Personal Number 3:
A numerology personal year number 3 brings more creativity and inspiration.
This is the year for self-expression, inspiration, imagination, and deep emotional feelings. Creative expression can be expressed through the arts, your own artistic endeavors and/or a public association with the arts.
It is possible add color and warmth to many levels of living. Be artistic. Express yourself joyfully. Now is the time to follow those inspirational and imaginative ideas you are so excited about. Follow your desire for self-improvement; the year is rich with opportunities for inner growth.
This year brings increased activity. Enthusiasm is abundant. You may desire to do more entertaining this year, as well as accept more social invitations. Remember to take time off to enjoy yourself.
Make new friends. Listen to new kinds of music. Spend time with nature. Volunteer your time for worthy causes. All these can provide satisfaction and joy.
Allow your abundance of cheer and optimism to guide you. If you find yourself going in too many directions at once, consult your true inner excitement to see which directions are likely to provide the most joy.
Personal Number 4:
A numerology personal year number 4 brings discipline and opportunities.
It is a practical year; no long leisurely periods for dreaming, personal indulgence, or careless living. It is a time use practical values and steady application to build upon a firm and secure foundation which your future depends. It is also the time to work out the details of that project you’ve been thinking about.
It’s a good year to identify where you stand in life. Be practical and resourceful. Pay attention to details. Read the fine print of all transactions. Expand your perceived limitations by associating with others in your field of endeavor or taking several courses of study online or at a local college or university.
Limitations have much to do with belief. Identify beliefs that work for you and release ones that no longer serve you.
The year demands a lot of work, not only to improve the present but also to build practical foundations for the future. There may be feelings of restriction. Remember steady progress and diligence brings commensurate rewards. With good sense, you can meet all requirements and experience satisfactory gains.
It’s a good year to invest in tools you need to do your work better or faster.
Personal Number 5:
A numerology personal year number 5 brings unpredicted changes and more expression of personal freedom.
It is a year of change for you, a year to get out of the rut. Your opportunities are found outside ordinary routine. New opportunities and new conditions are manifesting (some may appear unexpectedly) — new relationships, new ideas, new contacts, new enterprises, new plans — more freedom, more variety, more travel — broader fields of interest and activity.
You feel an inner push to go do something, anything, so long as it’s a new experience. You notice more opportunities to travel. It is time to take advantage of the prevailing atmosphere of change and variety to learn something new. The year adds new life and color to your undertakings.
The changes can be thrilling and inspiring. Now is the time to take advantage of the enhanced sense of freedom you feel and create new outlets for your genius. It is also a time to let older people and children inspire you.
If you have a business, you may wish to advertise more than usual, possibly presenting your business with a new, even unique, angle. Be flexible. Rewards may come through taking a risk.
Personal Number 6:
A numerology personal year number 6 brings additional responsibility and more attention to domestic affairs.
It is a year of service for you, a duty year, with additional responsibilities. People make more demands of you this year. You are needed in many directions. It is also a year when maintaining harmony in the home matters more. And a year of attending to other people’s health matters.
It is also a year to take care of your own health because without it, you cannot help others. Find time for rest, relaxation, and fun. This is a year to be thorough and conscientious about everything that you do.
Home maintenance and humanitarian activities are high on the list for the year. Warmth and good will toward others, along with love and harmony, will make everything worthwhile. Justice, fair play, and honesty are important. It is a period of unselfish service.
It is a year of fine and friendly influence for marriage, tranquil home conditions, and traditional family activities. It is a time to become aware of your respect for yourself; acquire a new wardrobe; or dressing up your home with new furniture and household decorations. Make your home environment comfortable to live in and be willing to invite guests over.
Love and passion are heightened. You may feel a strong desire to get settled.
Personal Number 7:
A numerology personal year number 7 brings contemplation and spiritual awareness.
It is a year for personal reflection and perfection, a year of introspection. You feel like analyzing everything you have been and are doing. You think about beauty, love, perfection, and what life is all about.
You will spend a good deal of time alone, by choice, getting acquainted with yourself and your new inner power. Through reflection and self-awareness, your inner nature can be revealed to you. You have the opportunity to gain a better understanding of your life purpose during this year.
Your intuition is also enhanced. This year you gain a better understanding of your emotions and your spiritual nature. Take time out to rest, study, read, and travel, and to look at life from a different angle. Find outlets for personal creative expression. If you have psychic, spiritual, new age, or mystic interests, this is the year to pursue those studies.
Quality is your standard.
Access your inner wisdom by writing a journal, free-flowing whatever comes to mind. Writing is a wonderful method of obtaining a different point of view. Frequent writing aids in discovering more about yourself. Review the journal occasionally to get a sense of your progress.
Personal Number 8:
A numerology personal year number 8 brings respect and material gain.
It is a year of achievement, of reward, your year to make great strides in business, employment, promotions, monetary compensation, and/or the accumulation of possessions.

With the Full Moon in sensitive Cancer on Friday December 28, 2012 at 5:21am EST (2:21am PST), emotions are running high. This is the last Full Moon of the year before entering 2013. What are you willing to leave behind?
The Capricorn – Cancer opposition is an interesting one. These two signs intensify the home, emotional intimacy, the need for security, and building a solid foundation. Capricorn represents the patriarch, while Cancer represents the matriarch.
The Cancer – Capricorn opposition illuminates your home base, including those that are close to you, and your sense of belonging. Hidden needs and unsettled emotions are being highlighted with the Full Moon. Also, Saturn and Scorpio create a favorable trine with the moon, where you’ll feel supported to let go of unsatisfying situations, making room for more fulfilling ones.
The Moon in Cancer brings us into balance with compassion, empathy, and emotional intelligence. Cancer finds its strength in emotional independence. It’s a good time to resolve any co-dependent situations and relationships, making room for relationships that are rooted in integrity (Capricorn). Co-dependent situations keep the second/third chakras imbalanced because self-worth is connected to what you do or who needs you. You’ll feel liberated and balanced by releasing these situations.
With the Sun in Capricorn, you are able to find your center. It gives you a strong footing for resolving emotional baggage and conditioned responses. This transition opens you up to seek more fulfilling relationships in 2013.
For our Full Moon in Cancer ritual, we are making lists of what we want to release. Taking our list to the beach to burn it and bury it in the sand along with amethyst crystals. The smoke from the fire releasing our intentions to the Universe, while burying the ashes is symbolic of creating fertile soil for planting new intentions. Amethyst offers powerful spiritual protection and is a stone of meditation, peace and healing.
On the lighter side, the moon also casts its glow upon viable paths for the future. An influx of ideas and inspiration may guide you upon a new course. Consciously integrate the subtle messages and suggestions from Spirit into your daily routine, creating a foundation that supports and sustains your growth.
Be receptive, honor your feelings, and tune into your dreams at this time. Now matter what changes you’re experiencing, stay positive by using affirmations to transmute old patterns into new ones. Look at survival fears that are cropping up and shift your thoughts towards the “Universe supporting” all of your needs. Use this Full Moon in Cancer to find practical ways to feel more secure and emotionally stable.
