Autumnal Equinox 2011
Posted by Jana Groscost Matthews | Filed under Jana Matthews, Manifesting, New Moon Manifesting, Self Healing, Transformation, Transmutation
In the Northern hemisphere the Autumnal Equinox is celebrated on Friday September 23, 2011 at 5:05am EDT (2:05am PDT). As we move towards the Winter Solstice the days are getting shorter and the nights are getting longer. At the equinox the length of day and night are approximately equal.
All around us there are signs of the changing seasons; birds and butterflies are migrating south, plants stop their growth cycle, trees are losing their leaves, and animals are growing their winter coats. As the brisk days of Fall are upon us it’s a great time to reflect upon your harvest.
What goals have you achieved since the Spring Equinox?
Whatever intentions you set in the Spring, now is the time to step back and see the fruits of your labor. Be grateful for the steps you’ve taken and the progress you’ve made. Gratitude is necessary to creating more. It’s easy for the ego to point out any shortcomings by pointing out the “should haves” and “could haves.” But this sabotages your success by supporting your doubts and fears.
Focus on what you did accomplish because each step takes you closer to the goal. Express gratitude for the journey which shifts the ego’s focus on what is missing and highlights what you’ve achieved.
Autumnal Equinox Affirmations and Exercises:
1) I am so GRATEFUL to have ____________________ .
Make a GRATITUDE list for everything that has already transitioned for you and what you still want to change. This exercise helps the ego understand your progress.
2) I am so GRATEFUL to be supported by the Universe mentally, physically, emotionally, spiritually, and financially.
Make a list of each of these five areas and what it means to you to be supported in each. For example, “I am so grateful the Universe supports me physically by providing healthy, organic meals and the time and motivation to exercise regularly.” This process helps the ego recognize the support you’re receiving.
3) Create a ritual releasing your emotions, patterns, toxic people, and situations that hinder your growth. You can write these on paper to identify what you want to release. Then using meditation, visualizing the emotions, patterns, or toxic situations being removed or erased from your life. You can also burn the list. As the list burns your intentions are sent out with the smoke into the Universe to resolve.
Celebrate the harvest of the Autumnal Equinox by rejoicing in your bounty and releasing old baggage. Happy equinox everyone!

Empower Yourself by Healing Emotions
Posted by Jana Groscost Matthews | Filed under Inner Alchemy, Jana Matthews, Manifesting, Self Healing, Transformation, Transmutation
One of the most significant ways you can empower your life is by validating your emotions. Most people are never taught how to process emotions. As children, parents often teach their children to suppress, ignore, or reject them. They may respond to their kid’s emotions by saying “big boys/girls don’t cry you should be ashamed of yourself, or you shouldn’t feel that way.”
When parent rejects the child’s emotions they’re programming the child to deny, suppress, and ignore emotions.
E-motion is energy in motion. It’s energy moving through the body. Humans are designed to feel a full range of emotions compared to any other living creatures on earth. They are an instrumental part of human’s existence. When someone holds onto their emotions the natural flow of the body’s energy system is disrupted causing a break or short circuit in the natural flow. The childhood programming says, “feel something and suppress it.”
The difference between an emotion and a feeling is the length of time you choose to hold onto it. Feelings move through the body in 30 seconds or less, while an emotion is a feeling held in the body for more than 30 seconds. For example, when someone cuts you off on the road you instantly feel anger or frustration and rant and rave. An emotion is created when you return home or office and talk about the incident hours later; reliving it over and over.
Someone may hold onto emotions when they feel threatened or need attention. They may create stories around their emotions and events, becoming attached to them. These stories become the lens through which a person filters all future experiences through until they choose to change the lens.
Emotions create illusions by clouding perceptions of reality. For example, a child feels abandoned when her mother takes her to daycare. The change in the routine is traumatic. The child changes her behavior and personality to protect herself from feeling this way again. She’s created the illusion she’s been abandoned. The child fails to understand the purpose of the situation and only processes it from her perspective.
Emotions consume our power and short circuit the body. Healing emotions begins when you question them. Asking why you feel or respond a particular way is the easiest way to change the behavior and resolve the hold of the emotion. As you observe your emotions you reclaim your power instead of being controlled by them.
1 Observe your emotions – Why do I feel this way? What am I feeling?
2 Validate your emotions – I’m feeling mad, angry, sad, disappointed, discouraged, etc.
3 Release your emotions – Is there a legitimate reason I should feel this way? Why would I want to hold onto it? Can I let it go?
4 Use affirmations to “express gratitude” for recognizing the emotions and resolving them such as “I am so grateful that I have released and resolved resentment toward ___________.”
Emotions are an important part of our human existence. Empower yourself by choosing to take control of your emotions instead of allowing them to subconsciously rule you.
Learn to Empower Yourself by joining “Living an Empowered Life” a 3 week Teleconference on Tuesdays September 6, 13, 20, 2011.

New Moon in Taurus 2011
Posted by Jana Groscost Matthews | Filed under Inner Alchemy, Jana Matthews, Manifesting, New Moon Manifesting, Self Healing, Transformation
A new lunar cycle begins on Tuesday, May 3, 2011 at 2:51 am ET (11:51pm PT May 2). As the new moon moves into Taurus you’ll want to integrate your goals with the Taurus characteristics in mind.
As you set your goals this lunar cycle, use the key elements of the Taurus energy to get what you want by focusing on growth, stability, development, sustaining, and creating security in the material world. On the darker side, the Taurus energy can take on the form of being overbearing, territorial, and stubborn, so watch what is coming up for you and adjust accordingly.
We’ve just left the pushy, impatient, and assertive energy of Aries. And as we step into Taurus, focus on the simplicity of being grounded, getting results, and planning for the future.
In honor of the new moon we will hold a FREE conference call and meditation on Monday, May 2, 2011 at 9pm EDT (6pm PDT) to assist you in your goals. To join us register here for conference call access information.
Have a blessed month manifesting your dreams with the new moon in Taurus!

Full Moon in Virgo 2011
Posted by Jana Groscost Matthews | Filed under Ascension, Inner Alchemy, Manifesting, Self Healing, Transformation

On Friday March 18, 2011 at 11:10am PDT (2:10pm EDT) is the point where the moon reaches its full glory.
During this full moon, the moon will be closer to the earth than any other full moon in the past 18 years. As a result, the full moon may drum up some big stuff for you.
This coupled with unpredictible Uranus’ influence at this time may stir up emotions and events that need your full attention now. Uranus brings with it sudden emotional shifts and unexpected events. So be prepared!
Mother Earth is in a state of shedding her old patterns, just as we need to also. Seeing the devastation created in Japan is a reminder of how vulnerable we all are to shifts in the Earth’s energy. In a split second our lives can be completely changed.
As we approach the full moon later this week, be aware that it may bring up intense opportunities for your life to shift also. Now is the time to acknowledge and address what emotions still need to be resolved. No longer can it be swept under the rug. It’s coming up for a reason and working with it will assist you in healing. As you heal and resolve the past you’ll open the door to new opportunities and spiritual evolution.
Maintaining a sense of gratitude and faith will help you overcome any adversity, drama, and trauma that comes to the surface this week.

Full Moon in Leo
Posted by Jana Groscost Matthews | Filed under Ascension, Inner Alchemy, Manifesting, Self Healing, Transformation
The moon reaches its peak on February 18, 2011 at 12:35am PDT (3:35am EST). This full moon is filled with the dramatic, fiery sign of Leo. The effects of the full moon may be felt a couple of days before and after the actual apex.
The moon in Leo encourages us to express our gratitude and demonstrate generosity. During the moon in Leo you may feel a sense of completion for the seeds that have been planted over the past several weeks. This is a time for illumination on new ideas and beliefs that have been percolating for a while.
The full moon may bring old emotions and beliefs to the surface, and is the perfect time to release them; opening yourself up to be filled with thoughts and beliefs that may be outside the box. Be patient with yourself as you shift with these changes.

Manifesting and Healing with Dreams
Posted by Jana Groscost Matthews | Filed under Inner Alchemy, Manifesting, Transformation
Our dream time is the perfect time to heal our emotional body and set our intentions for manifesting. The subconscious mind is uninhibited by the conscious mind and ego while we sleep, thus allowing us to heal and manifest.
Our healing and evolution depends upon our ability to let go of the past, the ego’s control, or figuring out all the details. Often time the ego’s strong need to control stops us from moving forward or manifesting. The ego fears change and the unknown, keeping us stuck in past patterns. But you can override this during sleep time.
Take advantage of your dream time by following these steps and you’ll create a better pathway to healing and manifesting.
1) As you are going to sleep take a couple of deep breaths to clear your mind and relax your body
2) Think about what you want to heal or manifest
3) Ask God, Divine Intelligence, to assist you as you sleep to heal or manifest
4) Think about what you are healing or manifesting
5) In the morning write down any dreams or insight that have messages to assist you in healing or manifesting
The song Silent Lucidity by Queensryche talks about dream control. These lyrics hold a powerful message of letting go and using dreams to create what you want:
If you open your mind for me,
you won’t rely on open eyes to see
The walls you built within
come tumbling down and
a new world will begin
Mastering the conscious mind and breaking down the barriers the ego created from our experiences and perceptions is the key to manifesting and healing. When we learn to look at things from a different perspective our results change.

Conscious Living
Posted by Jana Groscost Matthews | Filed under Inner Alchemy, Manifesting, Transformation
According to Freud, so much of the human psyche is unconscious. So many humans function automatically, seldom aware of why they act or react the way they do.
But we have the capacity to change this. We can bring more awareness into our lives so that we control our destiny. It’s really a simple process. When we were children we asked many questions – curious to learn how the world worked. Did your mom or dad ever ask you to think about why you behaved the way you did when you were in trouble?
How would life change if more consciousness was brought into it?
Anyone can do it. We need to get back to that state where we ask ourselves more questions such as:
~ Why am I behaving this way?
~ How do I change my behavior?
~ What do I really want?
~ How can I get it?
~ How do I feel?
~ Why do I feel this way?
~ Am I feeling fearful?
As soon as we begin asking questions of ourselves, we shift out of an unconscious state. The more often we challenge our auto-responses the greater the changes within us.
Awareness of our actions and reactions allows us to shift so that we let go of behaviors that are misaligned with what we really want. The more conscious we are of ourselves the more we control our outcome.
Live life with curiosity and shift your consciousness!
