What’s in Your Next Chapter?

“The human race is at a unique turning point.
Will we choose to create the best of all possible worlds?”

As we close out another year and the first decade of the 21st century, many people preparing their New Year’s Resolutions for the forthcoming year. This New Year marks a significant time in history. We are living in the year of manifesting!

During this year we will be given many opportunities to shift the way we’ve done things in the past. We can learn to transmute our thoughts, emotions, behavior and patterns to create a new path. As we transmute our thoughts, emotions, behavior, and patterns we shift our inner alchemy, changing our outer results.

We live in a society that wants change to occur instantly. And our live can instantly change. But what we really need to change takes baby steps. Just like a child learning to walk they practice, practice, practice what they wish to master.

Throw out your perception that change is hard. Cast away all doubt within yourself. Prepare yourself for the shifting tides by letting go of manifesting from your head, and instead learn to open your heart.

You have the strength within to create greatness. We just need to learn how to get out of our own way and allow our higher self to assist us.

Practice connecting with your higher self
Practice letting go of controlling everything
Practice responding differently
Practice resolving emotional wounding
Practice living differently
Practice, practice, practice

As children we had to practice everything we did to become masters of it. Nothing has changed; we still need to practice to create different results.

As you prepare for 2011, set your intentions of what you wish to practice this year. Develop a different mindset than instantly manifesting them, and allow them to gradually integrate. The changes may be so subtle that you barely notice, but you’re setting foundation for a different future. It’s up to you to create your best possible world.

Faith, Ego, and Inner Wisdom

Article first published as Faith, Ego, and Inner Wisdom on Technorati.

During times of transition or change you may feel unsupported, isolated or alone. But we are never alone.

Our God, Creator, Universal Intelligence (or whatever you call your higher-self) is always with us. By asking for help in all areas of our lives, no matter how mundane or trivial the request seems, we open a connection into an invisible network of assistance.

By asking for help, we receive guidance, support, and doors that seemingly appeared locked, miraculously open for us. It requires faith, patience, and letting go of expectations or preconceived ideas of the outcome or timing. The more we learn to listen to our inner guidance and are obedient to our promptings the easier our life becomes.

“I found that whenever I have surrendered in obedience, impossible things have become simple.”
~ St. Teresa of Avila

Sometimes people get so caught up in their circumstances they fail to realize the more difficult things get the more God is prompting them to move past their fears instead of being the “victim” of them.

Many people resist or ignore the promptings of their inner guidance and are paralyzed by fear. Isn’t insanity doing the same thing, expecting different results? If you want something different, yes, you will need to do something different.

Doing something new requires us to take baby steps. Our higher self may ask us to shift the people we’re around, place we live or work, let go of patterns and emotions, or whatever is necessary to create different results. We must surrender our perception of how the process will unfold and embrace faith to truly take us closer to flow.

Flow is the serendipitous timing of everything perfectly synchronized. Flow happens when you obediently follow the promptings of your inner wisdom; discerning, or asking for clarity to ensure your higher-self is guiding you instead of the ego.

The ego is tricky and attempts to keep us locked in our old patterns and behaviors. It wants to take credit or be “right” to prove it’s important. As soon as we rationalizing or justifying what we think is the answer, the ego has taken over. The ego will always lead us astray and away from our Divine Intelligence. By asking for clarity in your decisions you’ll learn to distinguish between your ego and higher-self.

By simply asking if this approach is devised by the ego or a message from your inner wisdom, you’ll bring awareness and clarity to the situation. The more you ask, the less the ego is involved and the easier flow becomes.

Faith is learning to trust in your higher-self and stepping away from the ego. When you surrender to the guidance of your higher-self you life will flow smoothly because you’re in sync with your inner wisdom, providing true peace and joy.

Change Your Story

Manifesting or creating what we want requires that we change our story. Stop telling yourself and others lies about your perception of reality. People put their faith in their own stories, which keeps them from getting what they really want. Being vested in your story keeps you from connecting with God. When you’re vested in your story what are you looking for? Sympathy? Support?

In the books The Four Agreements and The Voice of Knowledge Don Miguel Ruiz talks about the power of changing your story. He says, “How are you going to change your story? Well, now you know that you are creating your story according to what you believe about yourself. The way to transform what you believe about yourself is to unlearn what you have already learned. When you unlearn, your faith returns to you, your personal power increases, and you can invest your faith in new beliefs.”

How does your story shape your life? If you stopped telling your story – to both yourself and others – how would your life change? People put their heart into their stories, which is not who they are, it’s situations they have experienced, lessons to be learned, and knowledge/wisdom to be embraced.

Ruiz goes on to say that to stop the stories we must follow the First Agreement in his book:

“Be impeccable with your word” – to both yourself and others.

Your entire world changes when you are honest with yourself and others. As Ruiz says, “Your personal power increases” when you are honest with your words! Creating new thoughts builds a new foundation in truth by changing the chemistry in your brain and body. You now vibrate from a place of truth! Manifesting becomes instant when your personal power increases and creating what you want is a snap.

Insurance

We live in a society that wants guarantees that nothing “bad” will ever happen. We protect ourselves with insurance for our health, home, cars, life, business and anything else. It has become one of the most costly expenses we have as an individual, business owner, or professional. Insurance costs jack up the price of every good or service we buy.

Insurance costs are becoming so exorbitant many people can no longer afford them. It has become a vicious cycle that needs to change. And who is it benefitting? What are we really paying for by buying insurance? We are trying to protect ourselves by buying peace of mind that everything will be taken care of. But guess what, there are no guarantees.

Sure some insurances are necessary, but our society has become so litigious about everything it has created a system that supports fear! Millions of dollars are spent every year to calm fears. Far too often instead of working something out a lawyer is called. “I’ll sue you!” Honestly where is this thought process getting us? Where’s the trust? Where’s the integrity in our efforts?

The ego has decided to take control and shifted our beliefs away from our true protector God/Goddess, Divine Intelligence, Divinity, Spirit, Creator (or whatever name you use) providing for us. The ego can’t “see” the protection it receives from God, so it does whatever to create it. This thought process continues to support fears instead of calming them.

True peace of mind comes from trusting God protects and supports you. Yet many feel unworthy to receive this support! We don’t realize all the times we’ve been protected by being inspired to take a different path, or our schedule was delayed saving us from catastrophe.

Our left brain, where the ego is located, really wants to be involved in the process. It likes routine and rituals so it feels it’s participating. So here are a couple of simple steps you can take every day to reduce fears and provide more peace.

1) Each morning set your intentions by praying or reciting affirmations for guidance and protection throughout the day.
Affirmations such as:
“God, angels, guides (or whomever you ask for help) provide me with continuous protection this day.”
“I am worthy to received God’s unconditional protection and support.”
“I easily understand the guidance I receive throughout the day.”

2) See yourself infused and surrounded by rays of white/gold light streaming in from the heavens. If you drive to work see your car surrounded by white light. Perhaps you take public transport – see it surrounded by white light. See your workspace surrounded by white light. White light is the highest frequency. It is the light of God’s unconditional love.

3) If there is a particular area you need help or protection on, ask for it! Call upon angels in whatever area you need help – perhaps you need help with a legal issue, or car repairs, or a medical issue. There are angels and people who have crossed over with expertise in the area you need help with and they would LOVE to help you! But until you ask, they can’t assist you.

4) Acknowledge and express gratitude for the protection and guidance you’ve received during the day. Acknowledge it as it happens and at the end of the night say something thanking God, angels, and guides for their help.

Put your faith back into your Divinity protecting you instead of supporting your fears. Your days will go smoother and you’ll feel more peaceful.

The Climb

Messages from Spirit come in many forms: movies, books, songs, strangers making a comment. I love the message in the lyrics of Miley Cyrus’s song “The Climb”. A message for all of us that the journey is more important than the destination.

The Climb

I can almost see it
That dream I’m dreaming
But there’s a voice inside my head saying
“You’ll never reach it”

Every step I’m taking
Every move I make feels
Lost with no direction
My faith is shaking

But I gotta keep trying
Gotta keep my head held high

There’s always gonna be another mountain
I’m always gonna want to make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I’m gonna have to lose

Ain’t about how fast I get there
Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side
It’s the climb

The struggles I’m facing
The chances I’m taking
Sometimes might knock me down
But no, I’m not breaking

I may not know it
But these are the moments that
I’m gonna remember most, yeah
Just gotta keep going

And, I got to be strong
Just keep pushing on

‘Cause, there’s always gonna be another mountain
I’m always gonna want to make it move
Always gonna be an uphill battle
Sometimes I’m gonna have to lose

Ain’t how fast I get there
Ain’t about what’s waiting on the other side
It’s the climb!

Keep on moving, keep climbing
Keep the faith, baby
It’s all about, it’s all about the climb
Keep the faith, keep your faith, yeah!

Questions to Ponder:

Do your dreams get squashed because of the voice in your head?

Do you focus on the journey or only the destination?

Do you lose faith when you hit obstacles?
