Illusions

“And he said unto them, “Within each of us lies the power of our consent to health and to sickness, to riches and to poverty, to freedom and to slavery. It is we who control these, and not another.”
A mill-man spoke and said, “Easy words for you, Master, for you are guided as we are not, and need not toil as we toil. A man has to work for his living in this world.”
The Master answered and said, “Once there lived a village of creatures long the bottom of a great crystal river. The current of the river swept silently over them all – young and old, rich and poor, good and evil, the current going its own way, knowing only its crystal self.”
“Each creature in its own manner clung tightly to the twigs and rocks of the river bottom, for clinging was their way of live, and resisting the current what each had learned from birth.”
“But one creature said at last, “I’m tired of clinging. Though I cannot see it with my eyes, I trust that the current knows where it is going. I shall let go and let it take me where it will. Clinging, I shall die of boredom.”
“The other creatures laughed and said, “Fool! Let go, and that current you worship will throw you tumbled and smashed across the rocks, and you will die quicker than boredom!”
“But the one heeded them not, and taking a breath did let go, and at once was tumbled and smashed by the current across the rocks.”
“Yet in time, as the creature refused to cling again, the current lifted him free from the bottom, and he was bruised and hurt no more.”
“And the creatures downstream to whom he was a stranger cried, “See a miracle! A creature like ourselves, yet he flies! See the Messiah, come to save us all!”
“And the one carried in the current said, “I am no more Messiah than you. The river delights to life us free, if only we dare let go. Our true work is this voyage, this adventure.”

A Grateful Heart
Posted by Jana Groscost Matthews | Filed under Inner Alchemy, Manifesting, Transformation
A transformative process occurs when we shift our thoughts away from what we want and express gratitude for what we have. I’ve heard client’s say, “I’ll be happy when…” instead of being grateful for what they already have. Without acknowledging what we already have, how can we receive more?
It’s easy to get caught in the vortex of what is missing, emotionally spiraling into grief and resentment. A part of manifesting is learning rise above lower vibrating survival emotions of scarcity, fear, jealousy, and greed and create what we want from the heart-center. Manifesting stems from a state of love.
The key to manifesting more is to be grateful for what you have now. One of the best daily exercises is to create a gratitude journal. Expand this time of Thanksgiving to be a daily ritual of giving thanks. Each day write out a list of what you already have and what you are still manifesting. Here are excerpts of my journal:
I am so GRATEFUL for my connection to Spirit.
I am so GRATEFUL for my loving husband.
I am so GRATEFUL for my wonderful daughters.
I am so GRATEFUL for sincere friendships.
I am so GRATEFUL for receiving clear and understandable messages from God, ascended masters, master healers, my guides, angels, etc.
I am so GRATEFUL for the insight and wisdom I’ve received to assist so many in their healing, evolution, and ascension process.
Making a statement of gratitude even when you are still working to manifest something provides a higher vibration around what you’re creating. Manifesting with gratitude puts you in a state of love instead of scarcity, fear, jealousy, or greed.
The Universe expands in relationship to our gratitude instead of fear. When perceptions are focused on what is missing then grieving takes over fostering fear-based perceptions of scarcity. When perceptions are focused on what we are grateful for then our world expands and provides more.
My life has been abundantly blessed. I’m so GRATEFUL for my clients and readers of New Moon Manifesting. My sincere desire is to assist many in their manifesting, healing, and ascension process. As a “Thank You”, during our next New Moon call on Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 6pm PST (9pm EST) I’ll be giving special healing gift to all those who join us.

Stirring Up Emotions – Venus Retrograde
Posted by Jana Groscost Matthews | Filed under Inner Alchemy, Manifesting, Transformation
On October 8, 2010 Venus turned retrograde. The term retrograde is used when a planet appears to be moving backward relative to the zodiac. With Venus this phenomenon occurs every 18 months and lasts until November 18th, but we will feel its “shadow aspect” until December 20th.
Venus is the planet of love, relationships, feelings and emotions, desires, money and wealth. She governs romance, marriage, other partnerships, and the pursuit of pleasure.
The retrograde period churns emotions and provides lessons for us to evaluate our relationships, their worth and value. You become readily aware of the differences or unresolved issues during this retrograde period as issues bubble to the surface. Although relationship stuff is coming up this time period is about evaluation instead of action.
Each time Venus turns retrograde the effects differ. This time the retrograde is bringing up the differences in the divine male/female energies as the new moon and 10.10.10 portal fell within this period. Our perceptions and interactions are shifting as we step out of the sovereignty masculine paradigm and shift into the characteristics of the divine feminine energy of unconditional love and humility.
Our physical world is based upon duality. The opposites are reflects all aspects of our lives such as when we experience sadness we know we can also feel joy; we experience anger and know we can forgive; we can sow seeds of fear or ones of love; or we can feel hatred or compassion, and so on.
Duality exists in every choice we make. We came to this earth to experience life in the third dimension. But we got caught in the choices and forgot our divinity. We became enthralled with Earthly pleasures as we shifted our connection away from our God-consciousness and into an ego-consciousness.
We are aching for something more as we attempt to remember and regain balance in our male/female energies; our divine essence – our twin soul. The duality principle is prevalent in the soul – with one side holding the feminine energy and the other male.
Over many lifetimes the male/female energies have become imbalanced as we learned to exist in this physical world from the male perspective. But now the pendulum is swings back into the feminine energy. As we shift back into the female dominant energy fears arise that the pendulum will swing too far suppressing male energy.
Through our various incarnations we have experienced many lessons and experiences of male/female energies. Our soul has evolved and matured to a place now where we can marry the twin souls of male and female. We have reached a place where we have a strong sense of self and spiritual maturity providing the foundation necessary for the two sides our soul to unite in an everlasting state.
Approximately 2000 years ago man’s innate fear of women caused the suppression of female energy. The shifting tides are swinging back the other way as we move into the divine feminine energy causing a spiritual transformation for the planet and its people.
As Venus stirs up emotions be conscious of what is coming up for you. Where do you still need to heal and find resolution and balance? As you learn to observe your emotions and reactions you’ll consciously shift away from the old paradigm and support the new one.
Here are a few ways in which we can shift ourselves out of the masculine to the feminine, the first word is the masculine approach and the second is the feminine. As you understand the two approaches, you can consciously begin to balance them.
Masculine versus Feminine Approaches
As we bring consciousness to our reactions and behavior we shift into a state of balance. We transform our evolving soul as well the collective consciousness. Embrace the beauty of Venus retrograde! The more we pay attention to what is coming up for us the easier we will shift what still needs to be resolved.

Soul Family
Posted by Jana Groscost Matthews | Filed under Inner Alchemy, Manifesting, Transformation
Many people have unique family situations and wonder, “why was I born into this family?” Perhaps the person feels “different” than the rest of the family, like a black sheep in a flock of white ones. A person feeling like an outcast can become frustrated, angry, depressed, or rebellious. If they don’t fit into their own family where will they fit in?
This can be especially difficult for children and teenagers who are trying to find their place in this world, and their inner guidance (higher self) clashes with family’s traditions. Many parents fail to realize that children are very connected to Source (God) until puberty when a shift in the physical body occurs. When puberty hits, the pineal gland begins to shrink. The pineal gland works with the pituitary, thalamus, and hypothalamus glands to create what is known as the third eye; our connection between the physical and non-physical worlds.
As the third eye closes off, our interaction with this earthly plane changes and becomes more controlled by the ego, logic, and the programming of our caregivers. Any ongoing conflict between the inner and outer worlds can be expressed in a host of ways, such as resentment or a sense of loss/identity. Their soul wants them to be one way and their sense of belonging pushed them in another. Until the conflict between outer and inner worlds is resolved, true peace and evolution is impossible.
If you felt unsupported by your family growing up, then you may believe you are unworthy to receive support now. But that’s untrue! The universe assists us in creating support systems in all areas of our lives when we ask for it. Our job is to step away from the expectation and judgment of who is in that support system. If we hold onto the belief that our blood family is our support then anger and resentments felt from their insufficient support will overpower the ability to create a true support system.
We are all gravitating toward a different family than the ones we were born into; our soul family. This is the family who supports us, loves us unconditionally, and who live with in joy. Some members of our blood family may be in the support system, but releasing expectations of people who are unsupportive is vital. As we let go of the expectations and judgments that our family is “supposed” to support us, we allow an entirely new support system to develop.

Our world is changing daily and as a part of the world we can choose to evolve consciously or unconsciously. Many people are fearful and reluctant to change which causes stress, anxiety, and resistance. There are so many great resources available to help people transition out of the muck of emotional drama, addictions and injustices. A few books that I’ve recently finished include:
The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho
This is a wonderful quick read. A fable about following your dreams and the various twists and turns life takes us on when we follow our heart.
Jim’s Life by Jason Matthews
A thought-provoking novel of a boy’s journey in healing and understanding his spiritual gifts. With so many books out there about the healing process, it’s refreshing to read an interesting story about ascension instead of a “how-to” book. The various stories within the book are captivating and engaging. They provide insight into viewing life from different perspectives. Yes, the author is my husband. But this book is a great read and I still would recommend it even if we weren’t related!
Little Soul in the Sun by Neil Donald Walsh
Although this is a children’s book, wow what a message! Our ego really tries to complicate our human existence. Life is meant to be simple. The message in Walsh’s book is an interesting perspective on shifting our perceptions of reality. By reading this book, you’ll discover how to view life and people differently. By shifting your perspective you’ll have an easier time understanding the role other people play in your life and how forgiveness is key to your ascension process. You’ll have an easier time with forgiveness and letting go of the past.
Ascension by Susan Shumsky
For me it started out bit slow because it begins with information about many different ascended masters. Once I skipped past that part I really enjoyed her insightful advice about the ascension process. The book walks you through a wonderful meditation and provides other tools for the enlightenment process.
There are many great books out there! What books have helped you in the healing process?

Gifts and Guidance
Posted by Jana Groscost Matthews | Filed under Healthy, Wealthy & Wise Tips, Manifesting, Transformation
“When we choose to remain calm under trying or frustating circumstances we are “training” our emotional bodies to become greater instruments to receive the gifts and guidance of Angels.”
Questions to Ponder:
Do I react in frustration?
Can I choose to respond calmly?
