Who’s Pushing My Buttons?!
Posted by Jana Groscost Matthews | Filed under Inner Alchemy, Jana Matthews, Manifesting, New Moon Manifesting, Self Healing, Transformation
Why is it some people create an intense emotional reaction within you? They seem to know just what buttons to push to get you going. Like it or not, the people triggering these intense emotions are your greatest teachers helping you heal and evolve.
We are living in a time of intensely shifting energies. As we approach the Summer Solstice and accompanying solar eclipse our shadow side is more exposed bringing tremendous opportunities for healing, growth, and living a more empowered life. The Universe is encouraging and supporting us as we transition into our highest divine expression.
Whatever is coming up for you are areas that need your attention. Perhaps there are strong emotions coming up around perceived injustices – areas where you’ve felt discrimination, wronged, unfairness, or prejudices. Whatever is coming up for you is the Universe saying, “Yes, now is the time to resolve this for good!” “You have the resources and strength to do this and you’re assisted each step of the way!”
Our shadow side is reflected back to us through others. They are a mirror image of what still needs to be healed within us. For example, what upsets you about a particular person – a boss, parent, or spouse? Are they too controlling? Then ask yourself, “Where am I too controlling?”
People pushing your buttons are reminding you what areas of yourself still need healing. We are being shaken to the core to release misperceptions and anything unaligned with truth, so we stand in our power.
You can work proactively with these messages or deny them. I’ve learned that when the Universe gives me nudge to heal something I better pay attention. When I’ve denied the opportunity it has come back in a more intense and unpleasant form! Begin by paying attention to repeating patterns. If you’re getting the same message from different people, there’s something to be healed.
Healing emotional wounds isn’t difficult. However, it does take a conscious effort on your part. Here are four simple steps to removing unwanted buttons:
1) Identify what is being triggered within you, beyond frustration or anger. What are you feeling?
2) Ask yourself, “Where am I creating the same thing for others?”
3) Say the following Ho’oponopono statement: If I or my ancestors have created the feeling of _________ in this or any other lifetime, please forgive me. I ask that these emotions are released from myself and this Earthly plane by sending them to my Creator; and my Creator replaces them with unconditional love and light.
4) Express gratitude each time your emotions are triggered. It’s the Universe helping you clean out your emotional closet.
If you’re having difficulty letting go of something or forgiving someone please click here to contact our office for more information or a private session. Also, Neale Donald Walsh has a great children’s book out called Little Soul in the Sun. It’s a great resource in helping us understand the people who are our greatest teachers.

Shifting Tides as Venus and Jupiter Turn Direct?
Posted by Jana Groscost Matthews | Filed under Manifesting
Late Monday I felt a slight shift. Then Tuesday it grew stronger. We often never realize the subtle changes until a shift in the cosmos occurs and we feel a sense of release. This is what we are all feeling right now as both Venus and Jupiter turn direct on November 18, 2010.
Each of the planets plays a significant role, with specific characteristics that influence our lives. When a planet is in retrograde it appears to be moving opposite of its normal motion. This change causes the planet’s influence to be the opposite of the norm; showing the shadow side within us.
Venus, while in retrograde, has been forcing us to delve into past relationships and notice the limitations they’ve placed on us. As the love planet shifts direct, we feel a breath of fresh air as we move towards balanced pleasures and partnerships.
It’s necessary to take care of ourselves and embrace life’s sweet treats. Now is the time for artistic projects, hosting social events, and looking at ways to improve our personal appearance.
As Jupiter’s gears shift, optimism returns! Plans that have been put on hold or seemingly stagnant are now moving forward. Follow your inspiration, mapping out the path and following the steps to achieve your goals.
Remember to approach everything with gratitude. Gratitude opens the door to receiving more.

Stirring Up Emotions – Venus Retrograde
Posted by Jana Groscost Matthews | Filed under Inner Alchemy, Manifesting, Transformation
On October 8, 2010 Venus turned retrograde. The term retrograde is used when a planet appears to be moving backward relative to the zodiac. With Venus this phenomenon occurs every 18 months and lasts until November 18th, but we will feel its “shadow aspect” until December 20th.
Venus is the planet of love, relationships, feelings and emotions, desires, money and wealth. She governs romance, marriage, other partnerships, and the pursuit of pleasure.
The retrograde period churns emotions and provides lessons for us to evaluate our relationships, their worth and value. You become readily aware of the differences or unresolved issues during this retrograde period as issues bubble to the surface. Although relationship stuff is coming up this time period is about evaluation instead of action.
Each time Venus turns retrograde the effects differ. This time the retrograde is bringing up the differences in the divine male/female energies as the new moon and 10.10.10 portal fell within this period. Our perceptions and interactions are shifting as we step out of the sovereignty masculine paradigm and shift into the characteristics of the divine feminine energy of unconditional love and humility.
Our physical world is based upon duality. The opposites are reflects all aspects of our lives such as when we experience sadness we know we can also feel joy; we experience anger and know we can forgive; we can sow seeds of fear or ones of love; or we can feel hatred or compassion, and so on.
Duality exists in every choice we make. We came to this earth to experience life in the third dimension. But we got caught in the choices and forgot our divinity. We became enthralled with Earthly pleasures as we shifted our connection away from our God-consciousness and into an ego-consciousness.
We are aching for something more as we attempt to remember and regain balance in our male/female energies; our divine essence – our twin soul. The duality principle is prevalent in the soul – with one side holding the feminine energy and the other male.
Over many lifetimes the male/female energies have become imbalanced as we learned to exist in this physical world from the male perspective. But now the pendulum is swings back into the feminine energy. As we shift back into the female dominant energy fears arise that the pendulum will swing too far suppressing male energy.
Through our various incarnations we have experienced many lessons and experiences of male/female energies. Our soul has evolved and matured to a place now where we can marry the twin souls of male and female. We have reached a place where we have a strong sense of self and spiritual maturity providing the foundation necessary for the two sides our soul to unite in an everlasting state.
Approximately 2000 years ago man’s innate fear of women caused the suppression of female energy. The shifting tides are swinging back the other way as we move into the divine feminine energy causing a spiritual transformation for the planet and its people.
As Venus stirs up emotions be conscious of what is coming up for you. Where do you still need to heal and find resolution and balance? As you learn to observe your emotions and reactions you’ll consciously shift away from the old paradigm and support the new one.
Here are a few ways in which we can shift ourselves out of the masculine to the feminine, the first word is the masculine approach and the second is the feminine. As you understand the two approaches, you can consciously begin to balance them.
Masculine versus Feminine Approaches
As we bring consciousness to our reactions and behavior we shift into a state of balance. We transform our evolving soul as well the collective consciousness. Embrace the beauty of Venus retrograde! The more we pay attention to what is coming up for us the easier we will shift what still needs to be resolved.

The Alchemy of Relationship (excerpt)
Posted by Jana Groscost Matthews | Filed under Manifesting
“Most of us will do almost anything to avoid psychological heat. When we get uncomfortable, many of us get the hell out of Dodge. Now for some of us this means literally packing up and getting out of town, or at least out of sight. For some of us it means that we are physically present, but no longer emotionally present. We numb up. We become automatons. We move and talk, almost like normal, but we have retreated far, far inside. Others of us numb ourselves with alcohol or drugs. And some of us do it with television. We humans are, after all, quite clever and creative. We can find all sorts of ways to avoid facing ourselves. In fact, they are far too numerous for me to list here. But I suspect you get the idea. I guess the real question here is this–what do you do when things get psychologically too hot for your taste? What do you do when you are on the verge of feeling something that you don’t want to feel?”

Tonight, June 2, 2010 at 7pm PST (9pm Central) we will be holding our third teen class/meditation (adults are welcome to join us also). To participate call into the conference line at 805.360.1000 access code 403871#. During the call you’ll want to be in a place that is quiet especially during the meditation so you can relax and let go.
There are many benefits to meditating for 5-10 minutes everyday. It’s a great way to calm yourself down, reduce anxiety (especially during finals), and more easily access information. We see in pictures so to achieve your goals you have to see yourself doing/achieving it. Meditation is a great way to visualize yourself getting what you want; whether it winning a race or game, getting a particular grade, or getting a new job, when you visualize is during meditation it projects that image into the cosmos that this is the goal and I want your help in reaching it.
Join us tonight for information about manifesting and a guided imagery meditation to help get you there.
