Celebrating Solstice.
I love the solstices and the change of the seasons. In the Northern Hemisphere, Summer Solstice officially arrives on Sunday, June 21, 2015 at 12:39pm EDT (9:39am PDT). The Solstice sets the stage for what is on the horizon over the next three month. On the Summer Solstice we experience the most sunlight, often being called the longest day of the year.
The Solstices have been celebrated for thousands of years.
People create rituals, celebrations, and festivals around the world to celebrate the Solstice. It is a period of growth and fertility. In cold climates, summer is a time of producing food in preparation for the winter.
Reaping big benefits.
Personal growth and nurturing is a common theme for this Solstice. With Jupiter in Leo for about the next 8 weeks, this is all about re-inventing you. What brings you joy and pleasure? How do you want to present yourself to the world? What are you passionate about doing? These types of questions are being drummed up.
Value, self worth, and self-esteem.
Issues related to self-worth and what you value may be on the forefront for the next 3 months. There is a deep need to look at what is authentic to you, what you value, and look at what you need to do to stand in your personal power. Be playful and creative as you see life from different angles, find new ways of expressing yourself, look into new ways of earning money, or work on your self esteem to boost confidence. Whatever you do, be light-hearted, patient, and have fun!
Sand dollar Solstice Celebration.
This year for the solstice celebration I’ve collected sand dollars from the beach, painted them gold and I’m placing blessings of *LOVE + LIGHT* for anyone who requests it. The sand dollars will be taken up to Avila Ridge overlooking the Pacific Ocean in Shell Beach and placed in a heart-shaped altar where there will be a unity blessing of unconditional love.
Do you want to participate?
If you want a sand dollar blessed for you, comment on this post by Saturday, June 20, 2015. We’ll be hiking up the hill early Sunday morning for our ritual. Create your own solstice ritual where you honor the light and divinity within this weekend. It’s a powerful way to begin the summer!
