Happy New Year… Happy New You!
The New Year begins with the Cancer Full Moon.
The Cancer Full Moon turns our focus to nurturing and caring for ourselves and others. What better way to begin the New Year than to do something to care for yourself! The Cancer full moon is compassionate, loving and kind. It is the archetype of the Mother. It occurs on Sunday, January 4, 2015 at 11:54 pm EST (8:54 pm PST).
Cancer is a water sign.
It helps us dive into the recesses of our psyche to resolve emotional wounds that are lurking under the surface. Cancer evaluates life through feelings. It is empathic and picks up the mood of other people. During this full moon look at emotions that are surfacing and determine if they are yours and need to be resolved or emotions of other people.
Every Full Moon reminds us to find balance
The Cancer – Capricorn axis seeks balance between the worldly success (Capricorn) and nurturing our inner world (Cancer). Cancer influences our home base, roots, origin, and dependence on others. While Capricorn encourages us to grow up and be responsible. It influences our career, independence, finances, and how we make money.
Cancer reveals the power of our emotions.
Emotions set the stage for manifesting. Every emotion vibrates. The more we can manage our vibrations, the more we attract what we want. Feelings are our guidance system. They are an indicator of how we relate to situations, ourselves, and other people. When feelings are suppressed or discounted it comes out in other areas or behaviors. This could pop up in addictions, aggressive behavior, passive-aggressive behavior, and any else that serves as an escape from emotions. The Cancer full moon intensifies emotions and behaviors that need to be addressed and resolved.
Embrace the power of the Cancer Full Moon.
Honor and nurture yourself. Ask yourself:
How do I care for myself?
How do I care for others?
Who cares for me?
As these are identified, as well as emotions and behaviors that crop up, acknowledge them and release them through some sort of ritual. For example:
1) Make a list of what you want to release and burn it using the smoke to carry your intentions away.
2) Use breath work an envision exhaling the old and inhaling new light and life.
3) Spend time in or around water, envisioning being cleansed or rinsed from of the old.
4) Use essential oils such as geranium, white fir, and/or Ylang Ylang over the heart to resolve emotional wounds related to love and trust to be released.
Visualize what you want to create in the New Year. Release the old, to make room for the new.
